FAQs

How much is the session fee?

$5,750. Each of Charisse’s session include (1) 12x12 Fine Art Book (30 pages) & the Digital Files with a custom image box, your session proofs & the high resolution digital files. Gallery walls, fine art framed prints & additional fine art books are purchased a la carte.

Where will our session be held?

Charisse is a natural light photographer and recommends choosing a comfortable & familiar location, such as your home.

What time of day does the session happen?

Sessions are held late in the day to capture the best natural light—typically an hour or so before sunset. If it’s an overcast day, she can start earlier…Charisse usually makes the final call the day of the session.

How long will our session take?

Sessions last about an hour and although the light is key, the most important part is for everyone to feel comfortable, so a low-stress day is recommended.

Why a pre-consultation?

A pre-consultation is key for Charisse to go over how she works, answer any questions regarding her pricing and policies. Then we discuss the session day details and your desired end result (i.e. gallery wall, large-scale prints, books, etc.).

What should we wear?

Clothing should be simple and comfortable. Keep your look as close to ‘everyday’ as possible. Avoid strong contrasting colors such as white and black on top. For your children, have them wear clothes you love to see them in but make sure they are happy with the choices as well, to avoid conflict. The key is to be comfortable!

Should we bring anything to our session?

Bring whatever you think will make the session fun and stress free. A football, frisbee, bubbles, favorite blanket or stuffed animal and don’t forget the family pet! It’s also good to have non-messy drinks and snacks on hand for small children.

What if someone in my family is sick the day of the session?

We strongly recommend rescheduling. It’s been our experience that the photographs will not reflect their everyday personality.

What if it rains?

Because Charisse uses natural light for her sessions, weather is key. Some sessions can be moved indoors, as long as there’s enough natural window light. Most rainy days are also dark, so on those days, sessions will be rescheduled.

What if we need to cancel our session?

Cancellations are permitted up to one week before your session and two weeks during peak season (June–October) and your session fee will be applied toward a future date.

When will we see our photographs?

Approximately two - three weeks after your session you will be emailed a password-protected, online gallery to view your session proofs. Your online gallery will expire after one week and within that time we will schedule your ordering session. Ordering sessions take place in Charisse’s office.

What products do you offer?

Charisse and her designer create beautiful custom gallery walls, fine art books and individual fine art pieces. They also offer fully customized cards printed on the finest matte paper during the holiday season. Digital files may be purchased after a minimum order.
